In the framework of the European campaign for the enlightenment and control of motor vehicles "ROADPOL", from today Monday 08 May, 2023 until next Sunday 14 May, 2023 members of the Police, in cooperation with members of the Department of Road Transport, will carry out traffic and mechanical inspections of trucks and buses, in order to prevent road collisions and increase safety on the road network.
During traffic police checks, the following will be checked:
• Driver and vehicle
documents• The speed at which vehicles are moving• Speed limitation devices• Driving/working
hours• Tachographs (analogue and digital devices)
• The mechanical condition of vehicles

This campaign (2nd for this year) will be carried out in parallel and at a pan-European level, by the member countries of the European Traffic Police Network "Roadpol".
This week of actions (8-14 May, 2023) also includes information on the risks caused by the non-compliance of truck and bus operators with current legislation, as well as intensification of traffic police checks for violations committed by truck and bus drivers.
