A murderous attack on a Russian dissident journalist who has been living in Cyprus for the past few years is believed to have been prevented by the police.
Two of his compatriots have been arrested and detained in the case, while the case is expected to be registered for trial tomorrow in the Limassol court.
In absolute secrecy, the investigators of the ICF of Limassol in cooperation with members of the ICF of Pafos are handling a case of conspiracy to commit murder. A middle-aged Russian resident permanently in Paphos, according to the testimony gathered by the authorities, made arrangements for the arrival in Cyprus of a compatriot who would execute a death contract with also a Russian, a retired journalist residing in Paphos.
According to the information and testimony held by the police, their differences are not only political, but there appear to be personal and financial differences between the alleged mastermind of the planned murderous attack and the journalist who has been living in a village in the Paphos district for the past few years.
The case file has been completed and after being studied by the legal service the case is expected to be registered for trial.
