The day of the Holy Spirit is a public holiday and general shops must be closed, with some exceptions, the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance says.
Specifically, the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance informs that, according to the provisions of the Regulation of the Operation of Shops and the Terms of Employment of their Employees, all general stores on June 5, 2023, the day of the Holy Spirit, should remain closed, since this date is considered a holiday for general stores under the aforementioned legislation.
In addition, it is emphasized that shops located in areas excluded from the scope of Part IV of the aforementioned legislation, i.e. they do not fall within the geographical areas of application of the legislation, are not obliged to follow the provisions of the relevant legislation regarding public holidays of general stores (Article 23).
However, employees who will be required to work during the statutory holiday for store employees (June 5, 2023) will have to be compensated at a ratio of 1:2 for each hour worked.
