A new operation was conducted this morning by the Pafos Police and the MMAD in the well-known apartment complex in Chloraka, where many foreigners are staying illegally, despite ministerial decrees and other decisions to abandon it and prohibit new foreigners from coming to the area.
According to Paphos Police Department spokesperson Michalis Nicolaou, a total of seven apartments were searched based on court warrants. In five of them, he said, it was found that foreigners residing in them illegally connected the premises to an adjacent EAC substation.
In addition, in one of the apartments where a couple of foreigners live, quantities of cannabis were found and the occupants were arrested for a self-inflicted offence.
A total of eight apartment tenants who were searched were taken to the Paphos Police Headquarters for questioning.
The investigations continue with the participation of YKAN.
