The first Public Consultation on the Pafos Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is scheduled for 10 May.
The object of the Contract signed in December 2022 with a duration of 14 months against cost (€199.500+VAT) is the provision of services for the development of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan for the wider urban area of the Pafos District. The study area includes 3 Municipalities – Municipality of Pafos, Municipality of Geroskipou and Municipality of Pegeia – and 15 Communities – Agia Varvara, Agia Marinouda, Armou, Acheleia, Emba, Kissonerga, Lemba, Marathounta, Mesa Chorio, Mesogi, Tala, Timi, Tremythousa, Tsada and Chloraka. The project is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union at a rate of 85%, through the Operational Programme: "Competitiveness and Sustainable Development", and 15% by national resources.
Sustainable mobility is linked to the wider goals, to which Cyprus has committed at European level, for sustainable cities, for tackling climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and using energy more efficiently.
The study will show which projects and where need to be done so that in the coming decades the lives of locals and visitors will be better and easier.
