The Paphos Assize Court today imposed a six-year prison sentence on the 45-year-old driver, who was found guilty in a murder case. The 45-year-old in December 2021 dragged and fatally injured a woman crossing a road and then fled the scene.
The case concerns the death of 60-year-old Androulla Papachristoforou from Paphos after a traffic collision on December 19, 2021 in the Universal area. The driver fatally injured the unfortunate woman while trying to cross Priamos Street. The driver of the vehicle then abandoned the victim and disappeared from the scene.
The Assize Court found the driver guilty of manslaughter and today imposed the six-year prison sentence.
