A new sports centre in Pano Polemidia, with a total cost of €10 million, which will be owned by the Cypriot company SPORTSHUB LTD is in the works. The private sports facilities will be constructed in a rural/suburban zone (Γ4), northeast and within walking distance (200 meters east) from a residential area of the Municipality of Pano Polemidia, (100 meters west of the Spyros Kyprianou Sports Centre, 100 metres southwest of the boundaries of the National Forest Park of Polemidia and about 700 metres southeast of the Polemidia dam). The plot is adjacent to Yiannou Kranidioti Avenue to the east and to the west to the river Garyllis. On the opposite bank of the river is the cemetery of Pano Polemidia.
The project will consist of two building units and extends over two main levels, located at a lower level than the street level. The first building will be located in the southern part of the development and will consist on the ground floor of a reception area, shop, beauty salon, changing rooms for visitors and staff, restaurant (with all the necessary auxiliary spaces - kitchen, storage rooms, etc.). The first floor will host uses such as offices, fitness rooms and additional changing rooms and toilets.
The second building on the upper level includes fitness rooms, changing rooms, a rehabilitation centre, a nutrition centre and a children's activity room. The lower level will host fitness areas, changing rooms, laundry, warehouses and a product sales area.
The main access to the development will be via an access bridge to the main parking area, which will be paved.
The development will include mini football fields (5x5 people), tennis courts and Padel tennis.
On the lower level of the development there will be a smaller covered parking area, football fields (9x9 and 5x5 persons), a beach volley court, a swimming pool of 25x10 metres and a running track.
