Police are conducting investigations to identify a number of informal migrants who may have arrived early in the morning or the previous days in the area of Sea Caves in Pegeia without being noticed.
In his statements, the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, said that professional safari drivers spotted early in the morning in the area where the EDRO III shipwreck is located, life jackets, which were allegedly abandoned ashore by informal migrants after their arrival.
The number of life jackets found on the shore is estimated at 13-15 and on them was written the word "PANAMA".
Nicolaou said that all possibilities are being investigated, noting that the life jackets found are tied to each other. He also said that it cannot be ruled out that the life jackets fell from a passing boat.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
