Images that refer to the heart of the summer tourist season live these days in Paphos. The Easter season went by at a pace reminiscent of summer in the city and especially in the tourist area of Kato Paphos, with thousands of local and foreign visitors flooding hotels, leisure centers and other places. The festive season finds Pafos to be for yet another year the epicenter for Easter tourists, who enjoy along with the Easter climate and the actions prepared by the competent tourist bodies and weather conditions that have contributed to everything going in an ideal way for the tourism industry.
Indicative of the very high traffic of Pafos during the Holy Week, is the report of the president of PASYXE Pafos, Thanos Michaelides, that the city's hotel units record high occupancy and that within this month the few units that are still closed will reopen.
Mr. Michaelides stressed that the Easter period is an excellent period for visitors to the city and province, both because of the important cultural and religious tradition they can enjoy during this period, and because of the richness of Pafos' nature that is highlighted during this period more than any other time of the year.
At the same time, the Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP) invests even more in domestic tourism, having peaked its campaign to attract Cypriot visitors during this period.
Paphos continues to be among the first choices and preferences of Cypriot holidaymakers, especially during Easter, summer holidays, Christmas holidays, but also during weekends and holidays.
Most tourist units in the province have been upgraded and offer attractive prices again this year, restaurateurs and other tourism professionals are ready to welcome thousands of visitors and provide them with high quality services and hospitality.
The Pancyprian campaign, which was completed on the eve of Easter, is linked to the parallel efforts of tourism professionals, who have prepared special holiday packages for all categories of tourist accommodation in order to boost the growing tourist flow from abroad and with domestic tourism in the post-Easter period.
