A 21-year-old man who was wanted in connection with an ongoing case of robbery, possession and transport of an offensive instrument, carrying a weapon to incite terror, stabbing and common assault was identified and arrested by members of the police. The suspect was taken into custody, with the ICF Nicosia investigating.
According to the evidence under investigation, at around 3.30 pm on Thursday, April 20, two unknown men, who had their faces covered, entered a store in Lakatamia, where, at the threat of a knife and a steel pole they were holding, they attacked one of the store's employees and stole money from the cashier.
Police examinations against the 21-year-old suspect revealed testimony on the basis of which a court arrest warrant was issued against him for police examinations. He was located and arrested shortly after 2.00am, last night, by members of the Police in Nicosia. The details and photo of the 21-year-old suspect were released by the Police on Friday, April 21, 2023, in order to gather information that could lead to his location.

A 26-year-old man was arrested by members of the Police and detained for the purpose of investigating a case of possession of drugs with the intention of supplying another person, after being found in his possession, quantities of narcotic substances.
The 26-year-old was stopped for inspection by members of the Morphou Traffic Police, around 8.50 last night, at a point on the Nicosia-Troodos road, in Akaki, where he was driving his vehicle. A member of OPE Morphou was also invited to the place for further examinations.
During the search, three packages containing a total of cannabis weighing about 26 grams and one package containing a white crystalline substance, weighing about 87 grams, were found inside the vehicle driven by the 15-year-old, which is being investigated if it was methamphetamine.
At the same time, in the possession of the 26-year-old, a bag containing around nine grams of white crystalline substance, two bags containing dry cannabis plant matter weighing approximately 4.5 grams, and a box containing dry cannabis plant matter, weighing approximately two grams, were found.
Upon detection of the drugs, the 26-year-old was arrested by members of the Police. He was taken into custody, with YKAN Morphou investigating a case of possession of drugs with the intention of supplying to another person.

A traffic accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Paphos, resulting in the injury of two people. Police are searching for the driver of a second vehicle who fled the scene.
According to the events recorded by the Police, the traffic accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Thermopylon Street in Geroskipou, when under circumstances that are being investigated, a vehicle driven by a 50-year-old woman with a 69-year-old passenger and passengers a 10-year-old child and two other women, collided with a second vehicle.
After the collision, the driver of the second vehicle abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The vehicle was picked up by the Police.
The 50-year-old driver and the 69-year-old passenger were injured in the accident, who were taken by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital, where they were detained for treatment. Their state of health is deemed out of danger.
Police are continuing to search for the driver.

A British man who had come on holiday to Cyprus did not return home last night. He was arrested at Paphos airport after his luggage was filled with tobacco and cigarettes from the occupied areas.
