Police in Larnaka confiscated 400 firecrackers.
According to Haris Hadjigiasemis, spokesman of the Larnaka police headquarters, "at around 1:30 this afternoon, youths aged 20 and 24 from Larnaka were found in the courtyard of the church of Agios Nikolaos".
The two youths, he said, "were riding a four-wheeled motorcycle and were considered suspects by a member of the Larnaka Community Police".
He added that "in a search carried out, 400 firecrackers were found in the possession of the two young people".
"The two youths were taken to the offices of the Larnaca ICF to investigate the case while the firecrackers were confiscated," Hadjigiasemi said.

The Police proceeded with the registration before the Nicosia District Court for immediate trial of three cases concerning the legislation for the prevention and suppression of violence in sports venues, with seven persons as defendants.
Upon registration of the three cases for trial, the District Court ordered that the seven defendants be released, subject to conditions that ensure their presence at the next hearing. At the same time, at the request of the Police, the Court issued orders excluding the seven accused persons from sports venues until the trial of the cases concerning them.
The seven persons were arrested yesterday by members of the Police, during checks made before the start of the football match that took place at GSP Stadium, in Nicosia, between APOEL and APOLLON.
Four of the seven persons, a 29-year-old, a 31-year-old man and two 25-year-old men, were arrested when during a check following an arrest of the vehicle in which they were travelling in the area of the GSP stadium, a bag containing 10 flares, allegedly belonging to the 29-year-old driver of the vehicle, was found in the vehicle, a bag containing a flare. A hood and two crushers with traces of cannabis, allegedly belonging to a 25-year-old, a bag with smoke canister and two flares, allegedly belonging to the second 25-year-old, and a folding bat, allegedly belonging to the 31-year-old.
Another two of the seven people, men aged 21, were arrested during a stop that also took place after the vehicle in which they were travelling in the area of the GSP stadium was stopped. A bag containing five balaclavas, a folding bat, two iron fists, two spray paint, and two torches was found in the vehicle, which allegedly belonged to the 21-year-old driver of the vehicle. In the possession of the second 21-year-old, 11 firecrackers were found.
The seventh person, a 24-year-old man, was arrested after a check on the vehicle he was driving, in the area of GSP stadium, found inside the vehicle, a piece of wood 90cm long.

A case of importation and possession of drugs, as well as cultivation of cannabis plants, with a suspected 42-year-old man, is being investigated by the Police and specifically by the YKAN unit in Famagusta district.
Specifically, after the discovery of cannabis plant matter weighing 3.9 grams and six pills, believed to be a medicinal product, in a parcel that arrived by post in Cyprus from a European country, members of the Famagusta YKAN who for examination purposes received the parcel yesterday from the Postal Services, then located its 42-year-old recipient. With the consent of the 42-year-old, his residence was searched, where members of the Police found three cannabis plants, planted in pots, as well as a package of plant matter weighing five grams and coffee solid substance weighing one gram, which is being investigated if they are drugs.
Police arrested the 42-year-old, who then, under questioning, allegedly confessed to importing the drugs and pharmaceuticals found in the postal parcel, as well as growing cannabis plants. He was released later last night, to be summoned at a later stage by the YKAN, after the completion of laboratory tests on the found.
