The crossings through the barricades reached 7 million for the whole of 2022, while 461,000 people arrived by air in the pseudo-state last year.
According to the PIO, Dialog, publishing today data from the "tourism department", writes that the large difference observed in the number of people who entered the occupied territories through barricades compared to those who entered by air, proves once again the importance of crossing points and therefore also shows the need to open new crossing points and facilitate formalities.
According to the statistics of the "tourism department", in 2022 of the 461,000 people who arrived in the occupied territories by air, 32,442 were from Russia, 31,450 from Iran, 27,800 from Germany and 24,067 from England.
Regarding the crossings, he writes that 6,578,930 people entered the occupied areas through the barricades of Agios Dometios, Ledra Street, Pergamon, Deryneia and Limnitis.
The number of Greek Cypriots who entered the occupied territories through barricades during the same year amounted to 2,835,496, the number of British nationals who entered the occupied territories through "southern" Cyprus, as the Republic of Cyprus is called, amounted to 282,237, while 247,033 people from Greece and 162,481 people from Bulgaria passed into the occupied territories.
