The authorities arrested one person for the fierce fight that broke out between foreigners last Friday night on the Limassol seaside.

Police reportedly handcuffed a 23-year-old who is alleged to be among the persons involved in the incidents.

In the same case, authorities are seeking three other persons against whom arrest warrants were issued.

In a complaint to the Police, two referees proceeded after the incidents that occurred on Monday night in the match between AEK and Apollon.

According to the Police, the fourth referee of the match, complained that he was attacked by an agent of the Larnaca team.

In addition, the referee of the match, complained to the Police that unknown persons caused damage to his vehicle, which was parked outside the AEK Arena.

The Police are investigating a case of violence on sports grounds and damage to property.

The ICF Larnaca continues the examinations.

The Paphos District Court yesterday imposed a sentence of three and a half years in prison on a 38-year-old accused person from Paphos.

The 38-year-old was facing a slew of complaints about investigated cases of burglaries and thefts committed in Paphos during the previous year 2022. Among other things, he was facing charges of possession of burglary tools.

The 38-year-old was involved in nearly ten burglaries and thefts that took place in homes and shops in Paphos, and among the stolen items were electronic devices, gold and other valuables.

The Pafos district court found three Syrians guilty in a case of possession of a large amount of drugs and property. They had been in custody for 13 months.

In addition to drugs, jewellery, watches, laptop computers, and mobile phones were found in their possession, mostly from users to whom they supplied drugs. The police operation was carried out on the evening of 11th  February 2022.  

Members of the Paphos YKAN, with a court warrant, carried out a search in an apartment in which a 44-year-old man lived , in the presence of himself, as well as three other persons, men aged 41, 35 and 24, who were in the apartment. During the investigation, 56 packages of methamphetamine with a total weight of 101 grams, 18 packages of cannabis with a total weight of 54.5 grams, one gram of cannabis resin, two packages of cocaine with a total weight of three grams, as well as 54 tablets believed to be "Ecstasy" pills, were found on the balcony of the apartment.

mixed quantity of about 40 grams of a crystalline substance, believed to be methamphetamine, was found on the coffee table of the apartment, while in the apartment were found, among others, 164 jewellery items, 26 watches, and nine laptops, two of which were tablet-type. A search was then carried out in the 24-year-old's apartment, where members of the Police located 28 mobile phones, another four tablet laptops, two electronic devices and one GPS device, as well as the sum of  €1,200. The district court today found all but the 35-year-old who was represented by lawyer Christos Demetriou guilty.

The 35-year-old through his lawyer denied any involvement claiming that  he was simply in the apartment as a guest when the police raided. The court acquitted and acquitted the 35-year-old while setting the 17th March for speeches and sentencing of the 3 Syrians
