Following a relevant decision of the Council of Ministers, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism announces a call for applications under the Grant Scheme for Projects for the Upgrading of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation in Rural, Mountainous and Remote Areas for the Modernization and Improvement of the Competitiveness of the Tourism Product. The Plan will be implemented under Measure C3.1I8 "Enhancing the added value of the tourism sector with emphasis on the countryside, as well as mountainous and remote areas" of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) of Cyprus and will be funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility of the European Union (EU).
The aim of the Plan is to support investments in hotel and tourist accommodation businesses in mountainous, rural and remote areas, for:
(a) the enrichment, modernization and upgrading of the quality of their products and services,
(b) the creation of new products and services, which concern alternative forms of tourism, and the service of specialized seasonal needs and peculiarities,
(c) the modernisation of services through digital upgrading.
The total amount that will be allocated for the needs of this call is €4,700,000.
Interested parties can obtain the final Project Guide which contains all the details, along with the annexes, including the application form, on the page of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism www.tourism.gov.cy, under "Incentives & Grants".
Applications will be accepted until December 1, 2023 at 12.00 noon or until the available budget is exhausted.
The order of priority will be determined on the basis of the order of submission of proposals (immediate evaluation) and the maximum amount of approvals will not exceed the available budget of the call.
