Due to the three-day period of Clean/Green Monday, increased traffic is expected in the coming days on highways, interurban roads and on the roads of mountainous and semi-mountainous areas.
According to the Police, the Force is already taking additional measures, with an increased presence on the road network, with the aim of preventing road collisions, mitigating traffic and facilitating the public's movements.
These measures include motorised patrols, traffic control and regulation, where appropriate. Special emphasis, as noted by the Police, will be given to serious traffic offences, such as driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, speeding, not wearing a seat belt and a protective helmet and using a mobile phone while driving.
Therefore, the Police calls on drivers to be particularly careful during their movements, to comply with the Highway Code and traffic signs and to follow the instructions of the on-duty police officers.
