CONNECTIVITY GRANT SCHEME FOR ULTRA-HIGH BROADBAND SERVICE

The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy announces the announcement of the first call for the "Connectivity Grant" Grant Scheme, which aims to encourage and support households to connect to ultra-high speed broadband services, by providing a grant of a total value of 120 euros, for a period of one (1) year, to cover part of the relevant costs.

In particular, the Grant can be used either for the activation of a new connection or for the upgrade of an existing one (with a download speed of less than 100Mbps), on a connection with a download speed of at least 200Mbps, under peak conditions.

Natural persons residing both within individual residences / detached houses and within residential complexes / apartment buildings can benefit from the Scheme, while each Beneficiary may be subsidized for a single connection for each premises.

The chart below shows the step-by-step procedure that each Subscriber must follow in order to claim a grant, if he/she is a Beneficiary:

Grant applications (for the 1st Call) can be submitted until 30September 2023, or until the budget is exhausted. More information on the provisions of the Scheme and the procedure for claiming the grant can be found on the website: https://gigavoucher.dmrid.gov.cy

The "Connectivity Grant" Scheme is being promoted under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), Cyprus in Tomorrow, while it is expected to cover approximately 82,000 Beneficiaries by mid-2025. It is considered to be of crucial importance for the achievement of the goals set at national and European level for the transition to a Gigabit Society, where all citizens without exception will actively and equally participate in the digital economy and society of the future and will have all the guarantees to derive the maximum benefits from the digital transition.
