POLIS 2023 - 4 PROJECTS OVER €10million

The implementation of 4 major development projects begins in 2023 in Polis Chrysochous, which are co-financed by European programs and national resources, costing more than €10 million. 

According to the Mayor of Polis Chrysochous, Yiotis Papachristofi, these are the projects of the core of Polis Chrysochous and Prodromiou, costing €5 million, the redevelopment of the free space in front of the City Hall and the free space around the old police station, costing €1.5 million and the construction of 3.2 km of pavements on the north side of the main city - Latsi road worth €1.2 million.

At the same time, he continued, the landscaping and upgrading of the warehouses in Latchi has been completed with a total cost of  €939,000 (construction project and operation of the first phase) which has been approved entirely for funding by the Business Program Thalassa (2014-2020) and the procedures for their conversion into a place of cultural action are progressing.

Mr. Papachristofi also continued, the Municipality will apply for additional funding of  €500,000 from the new programming period 2021-2027 for the purpose of purchasing equipment and operating the second phase of the project.

Furthermore, he continued, the project of promoting the archaeological sites in the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous, costing more than  €3 million is in progress. As is the design for the creation of a cafeteria on a beach of the Municipality, the design of the construction of a coastal pedestrian street and the design of the third phase of Latchi.

Finally, the Mayor of Polis Chrysochous announced that four development projects worth €9 million are expected to be inaugurated in the coming days from the President of the Republic. These are the Multipurpose Centre "Eleousa tou Kykkos", the Multifunctional Park "Thalassa", the project of breakwaters, and the pedestrian / bicycle path from Polis to Latchi.
