The Municipality of Paphos announced the commencement of the construction works for the improvement of Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue [road leading down to town from EAC head office - Butcher Boy Road].
According to a relevant announcement, the project includes the execution of demolition works of existing sidewalks, earthworks, paving of sidewalks and creation of roadside parking spaces, as well as the construction of a roundabout at the junction of the Avenue with Nikos Nikolaidis Avenue.
The street affected by the execution of the works is Eleftherios Venizelos Avenue as well as all its lanes from its junction with Tasos Papadopoulos Avenue to its junction with Nikos Nikolaidis.
As mentioned, the works will be carried out in parts, starting from the junction of the Avenue with Agiou Spyridonos Street (District Office of the Department of Labour). In addition, safe access for pedestrians of the affected residents and visitors to homes and other businesses will be ensured throughout the execution of the works. Road traffic will take place in one lane, while bypasses for the traffic flow to the city centre will be secured in a direction that will be appropriately marked.
The Avenue will remain open for traffic in both traffic streams where no construction work will be carried out.
