A 66-year-old woman owns the €10,000 found in the possession of a 31-year-old Greek pontiff at dawn last Sunday in Paphos. After examining the numbers of the notes, the Police were led to the holder of the money, who is the 66-year-old. The woman had reported a few days earlier that from the glove compartment of her car, which she parked on a Paphos street, an envelope had been stolen in which there was €14,000, which were a product of withdrawal from a banking institution.
The vehicle driven by the 31-year-old was stopped for a traffic check by members of the Paphos Police Department shortly after midnight on Saturday. The inspection revealed that the foreigner was driving with a deprived driver's license, without a safety certificate of the vehicle, and when he underwent a drug test it was found that he was under the influence of drugs.
When the police attempted to carry out a physical check, the 31-year-old fled, but was soon immobilized by the members of the force and arrested. From the body search that followed, €10,435 in banknotes and TL185 were found in his possession.
