They received in the Cybercrime Prosecution Branch, a number of reports from citizens where they reported having received malicious phone calls through the WhatsApp service.
Suspicious persons speak in English and ask citizens to provide them with their identity details as well as their personal bank account details.
The persons who carry out these actions report that they are calling from the Cyprus Police, while on the screens of the phones of the citizens receiving the calls, the emblem of the Cyprus Police appears.
The numbers called by the perpetrators of the fraud seem to be made from foreign countries.
The Police calls on the public to be particularly careful and not to respond to these calls, as they aim to extract their personal information.
