3,598 NEW CASES, FOUR DEATHS to w/e 5 January

Four deaths from covid19 announced by the Ministry of Health for the week of December 30, 2022 - January 5, 2023:

- They concern:

  • Man, aged 85, who passed away on 30/12/2022
  • Man, aged 93, who passed away on 03/01/2023
  • Woman, aged 92, who passed away on 03/01/2023
  • Man, aged 85, who passed away on 03/01/2023

- Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,262.

-       90 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in shsypy hospitals

-       12 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/5 intubated, MAF: 7)

-       patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 61,914 diagnostic tests were performed

3,598 new cases were detected (total cases 634,709).

- Positivity rate in all tests 5.81%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

2,054 molecular tests were performed

256 positive cases occurred

- Positivity rate 12.46%

Total number of rapid antigen tests:

59,860 rapid antigen tests performed

3,342 positive cases

- Positivity rate 5.58%

Private initiative:

1,361 molecular tests were performed, 148 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.87%)

- 38,257 rapid antigen tests were performed, 3,118 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 8.15 %)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 21,603 rapid antigen tests were performed. 224 positive cases were identified.

- Sampling points: 14,864 rapid tests, 172 positive cases identified (positivity rate 1.16%)

Other

- Nursing homes: 5,358 rapid antigen tests were performed, 50 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.93%)

- Closed facilities: 1,381 rapid antigen tests were performed, new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.14%).
