A 24-year-old man was detained and was spotted driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs on Wednesday and allegedly insulting members of the force.
According to the spokesperson of the Paphos ADE and head of the Paphos ICF, Michalis Nikolaou, on Wednesday morning, a vehicle was stopped in the area of Tremithousa by members of the Stroumpi police station, in which three persons were on board. During the process, the co-driver and the occupant in the back seat of the car fled and the driver, aged 24 years from Polis Chrysochous, remained.
It was found that the 24-year-old was driving his brother's vehicle without his consent, which had been declared immobilized and lacked insurance and a licence.
In addition, the driver reportedly tested positive for a drug test he underwent. As Mr. Nikolaou mentioned, during the arrest he insulted the members of the Paphos ADE and was subsequently detained.
