A coordinated operation was carried out by the Police over the last three days to prevent road traffic collisions in which 145 traffic complaints were made, with most of them involving speeding.
According to the Spokesperson of the Paphos ADE and Head of the Paphos ICF, Michalis Nikolaou, out of the 145 traffic complaints, 51 concerned speeding, 18 were drunk driving and one driver was found to be driving under the influence of drugs.
Specifically, a 20-year-old man was found driving under the influence of drugs and in possession of an aggressive instrument.
According to the Spokesperson of the Paphos ADE and Head of the Paphos ICF, Michalis Nikolaou, on Sunday members of the Paphos traffic police stopped a car, driven by a 20-year-old man.
In a drug test he underwent, he reportedly tested positive for cannabis use. Also in his possession during the search was found a metal iron fist, which is an aggressive instrument.
Subsequently, the 20-year-old was arrested for an offence and taken to Paphos Central Station and after being charged in writing he was released to be summoned later.
