Dozens of complaints from drivers who were on the streets under the influence of alcohol or drugs, complaints from other drivers about other traffic offenses, as well as complaints from professional premises for operating without the necessary permits, included for another night the police bulletin in the district of Paphos.
In a coordinated operation of various sections of the Paphos Police Department on the roads, a total of 49 driver complaints were made on Saturday night to Sunday. Of these, 19 concerned drivers under the influence of alcohol and one complaint against a driver under the influence of drugs. Another driver was also arrested for possession of narcotics.
As far as noise pollution is concerned, the inspections on the same evening resulted in the seizure of musical instruments from two premises since there was no music broadcasting license, while in four other cases an equal number of recreation centres were denounced for broadcasting music without a license from the competent authority.
It was the second consecutive night of police operations on the streets of Paphos, after more than 20 drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs had been identified and reported on Friday.
