LIMASSOL - 17 VEHICLES AND 7 MOTORCYCLES SEIZED

In the context of preventing road collisions, combating the phenomenon of nuisance and consolidating the sense of road safety, motorcyclists of the "Z" team of the Limassol Traffic Police and the Special Motorcyclists' Unit of the Police Headquarters, as well as other members of the Limassol Traffic Police, carried out between the hours of 6 a.m. – 5 p.m. yesterday, traffic checks in various areas of Limassol, with emphasis on the coastal front of the city, main roads, but also places where in the past there have been fatal road collisions and nuisance.

During the traffic checks, 17 vehicles and seven motorcycles were seized, while nine persons trafficked on main roads on scooters were reported.

In addition, 35 truck checks were carried out and 12 drivers were reported for various traffic offences, as part of the week of information and policing of trucks and buses, which is being conducted at a Pan-European level, by the member countries of the European Traffic Police Network Roadpol.

In total, 361 complaints were made about various traffic offenses.

The targeted checks of the traffic police continue daily throughout the day, throughout the road network nationwide.
