Cyprus Airways announced today its ambitious plans for the summer of 2023, during which, as it said, it will operate flights to 11 confirmed destinations with a schedule of at least 43 weekly flights, with new destinations and flights to be announced soon. The summer 2023 program will start on March 26.
In a press release, the airline confirmed that seats at the company's main destinations, Athens, Beirut, Tel Aviv, Cairo and Yerevan, are already for sale, while flights to Heraklion, Rhodes, Thessaloniki, Skiathos, Santorini and Preveza are expected to start selling as soon as seats at the airports are confirmed.
From its base, Larnaca Airport, Cyprus Airways said it will continue to serve Athens with a double daily roundtrip flight, while flights to Tel Aviv will depart daily. The city of Beirut will be served with five weekly routes, while flights to Cairo and Yerevan will be operated twice a week. The airline added that it also plans flights twice a week to Rhodes, Thessaloniki, Skiathos, Santorini and Preveza and three times a week to Heraklion.
"After a very busy summer and a positive booking demand for this winter, we are planning well ahead to meet the expected high demand for summer 2023. As air travel continues to recover rapidly and is expected to reach pre-Covid levels next year, we aim to meet this demand by offering more destinations, frequencies and seats to our customers at better prices than money," said Madonna Hoyek, Commercial Director of Cyprus Airways, commenting on this program.
The CEO of Cyprus Airways, Paul Sies, added that the flight schedule for the summer of 2023 offers a good combination of established and new routes.
"We remain committed to tried and tested routes such as Athens, Tel Aviv, the Greek islands and Beirut, while exploring new markets such as Cairo, Yerevan and others that will be announced soon. This program continues to show our strong commitment to the island's connectivity and to the local economy and tourism industry, offering a total of over 430,000 places during the summer season," he said.
"I am pleased to note that together with local and international stakeholders and in close cooperation with the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hermes, we will soon announce at least five new destinations that will be added to next summer's network," he noted.
He also expressed the company's determination to work with like-minded stakeholders interested in helping and developing tourism and the island's economy by facilitating connectivity through travel. "No airline operating to/from Cyprus offers the same commitment to the island as Cyprus Airways," Mr Sies said.
