5th RADISSON BLU LARNACA INTERNATIONAL MARATHON - 20 November 2022

Preparations are feverish for the biggest celebration of sports in Larnaca, the 5th Radisson Blu International Marathon, which will take place on November 20, 2022. At a press conference on Tuesday, all the details of the routes and sponsors supporting the institution were presented.

Thousands of runners from all over the world are expected to take part in one of the seven races of the marathon, which will have as a starting point the coastal front of Finikoudes.

Sunday's race program begins with the main route of the marathon race (42.195 km), the half marathon (21.095 km) and the 10 km. Here are the 5 km routes. and the 5 km corporate race, where teams and companies from all over Cyprus will test their limits. The day ends with the 1 km Fun Race for adults and the 1 km McDonald's™ Kids Race, in which hundreds of children will take part.

The Radisson Blu Larnaca International Marathon has been certified by AIMS, the International Association of Marathon Races and Long Distances, from the very first year of its organization and has collected more than 50 awards in Cyprus and abroad. It is also the first green marathon in Cyprus, since its first year in 2017.

"It has been shown over the years that this day, with thousands of people from all over Cyprus and abroad, is very important for our city. It is a day when Larnaca shines, it is a day of celebration", said the mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, appealing to everyone to enjoy it up close.

According to the executive director of the Radisson Blu Larnaca International Marathon, Konstantinos Daltas, "this year a record number of participations is recorded and the event has many surprises in store for young and old".

The benefits of the marathon for the city of Larnaca, as highlighted at the press conference, are many, since thousands of visitors rush to the city, who spend the night in its hotels.

Great importance is also given to the charitable character of the marathon that supports Special Olympics, the Karaiskakio Foundation, the Christina Apostolou Foundation and Ronald McDonald's House of Charities Cyprus. In addition, Radisson Blu Larnaca International Marathon, continues its collaboration with the GivenGain Foundation, a global online fundraising platform, to offer participants the opportunity to make a difference, for their favourite cause.
