Preparations for the International Cycling Race of amateur cyclists L'Etape Cyprus by Tour De France, which will take place in Cyprus on 11-13 November, enter the final straight.
The race, which is organized according to the standards and specifications of the original Tour De France, will have a total racing duration of 7 hours. The long route will cover a distance of 137 km and will pass through villages of the Districts of Paphos and Limassol.
In addition to the official race which will be held on Sunday, November 13, there will be a rich activity during the entire three-day period of November 11-13 from parallel actions such as children's cycling race, tasting and wine tasting activities by the French Institute of Cyprus, French music and photographic stand with the mascot Tour de France Didi the Devil. Ambassadors of the race are the Cypriot Champion Andreas Miltiades and the German John Degenkolb, a member of the Dutch DSM Team and winner of the 2018 Tour de France, Stage 9. A large number of amateur cyclists from both Cyprus and abroad will take part in the cycling tour. Athletes from England, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Israel and Greece have already registered to participate.
The race is under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Embassy of France in Nicosia, and is held in collaboration with the Limassol Tourism Development Company and the Cyprus Cycling Federation.
The organizing company, Mokapot Productions Ltd, which has undertaken the conduct of L'Etape Cyprus by Tour De France for the next three years, aims to promote Cyprus as an International sports tourist destination and, consequently, to extend the tourist season to the winter months.
