On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, from Sunday, March 20, 2022 and for a period of five months, in the section of the highway from 500 metres before the exit to Tseri past the Idalio Industrial Area and for a distance of approximately 2 kilometres, construction work will continue of the perimeter highway of Nicosia. Traffic on the Nicosia – Limassol highway in the direction from Limassol to Nicosia and from Nicosia to Limassol will be conducted in 2 traffic lanes in each direction and the lanes will be shifted to the eastern side of the existing highway. Traffic from the exit of industrial Idaliou to the Tseriou bypass will be uninterrupted, while the traffic from the Tseriou bypass to Nicosia via the highway will be closed. Traffic from the Tseri bypass to Nicosia will be conducted via the old Nicosia - Limassol road from the JCC light-controlled intersection. It is noted that the above arrangement will last for a period of approximately 5 months.
Works on the Nicosia-Limassol highway will also be carried out in the period 9/5/2022 – 31/10/2022, excluding weekends, for the installation of emergency doors on the central island of the highway from Alhambra to Germasogeia at twenty (20) points . During the works, the right traffic lanes to Limassol and to Nicosia will be closed in sections of 100m. approximately at each point and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lanes. On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, in the section of the highway from Muttayaka to Choirokoitia in the direction of Nicosia, in the period 1/8/2022 – 12/8/2022, excluding weekends, between the hours 07:00 – 16:00, rut cleaning operations are underway. Also on the Limassol-Nicosia highway, from Monday 1/8/2022 until Thursday 4/8/2022, work will be carried out to replace the contraction expansion joints on the Gialia river bridge. During the works, the embankment and the left lane before and after the Gialia bridge on the Nicosia-bound highway will be closed for approximately 400m. approximately and the traffic towards Nicosia will be channelled through the two right traffic lanes. Also, on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, at the Gialia river bridge, in the province of Nicosia, from Monday August 8, 2022 until Thursday August 11, 2022, work will be carried out to replace the contraction/expansion joints. During the works, the embankment and the left lane before and after the Gialia bridge on the highway towards Limassol will be closed for approximately 400m. and the traffic towards Limassol will be channelled through the two right traffic lanes. In the section of the Larnaca - Ayia Napa motorway, from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout, in the period 4/7/2022 - 10/8/2022, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30 every day except weekends, there will be from the Department of Forestry, watering the trees on the slopes of the highway in both directions to Ayia Napa and to Larnaca Airport. During the works, part of the highway shoulder will be closed, in sections over a length of 100m. approximately per time. In Aradippou, on Ellados Avenue, in the period 27/07/2022 – 05/08/2022, between the hours 06:00 – 12:00 daily except weekends, cleaning works of the central islands will be carried out by the Municipality of Aradippou. During the works, the adjacent lanes will be partially closed in both directions for approximately 500 metres, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In the Aradippou area, in parts of the avenues Eleftherias, Australasia, Acropoleos, Ellados, and Griva Digeni, in the period 07/07/2022 – 05/08/2022, between the hours 0800 – 1300, maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islets , from the Municipality of Aradippou. During the works, the tangential traffic lane will be partially closed from both directions for a length of 100-200m. about every time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In Voroklini, on Wednesday 3/8/2022 and Thursday 4/8/2022, between the hours of 08:00 – 15:00, local repair work will be carried out on the asphalt pavement, from the junction of the coastal road of Dekelia to the junction with the Community Council. During the works, one lane of the Voroklini road will be partially closed (100 meters each way) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane, using STOP & GO signage. In the district of Nicosia, specifically in Deutera, on Griva Digeni Avenue, Anthoupoli – Paleichori road, from Friday, May 27, 2022 and for a period of five (5) months, construction work will be carried out on a roundabout at its junction with Agia Marina Street. During the works, traffic from Anthoupoli to Palaichori and vice versa will be diverted through a temporary bypass road of approximately 300m length. The junction of Griva Digeni Avenue with Agia Marina Street will be closed and drivers from Palaichori to Deutera are urged to use the previous exit towards Anagyia – Pano Deutera. In Limassol, on Agios Athanasios Avenue, on Sunday 7/8/2022, from 04:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., road surface maintenance work will be carried out. During the works, the section of Agios Athanasios Avenue from its light-controlled junction with Spyros Kyprianou Avenue to its light-controlled junction with Kolonakiou Avenue (Linopetra traffic lights) will be closed to traffic in both directions and traffic will is channeled through Georgiou Neofytou Street, Spyros Kyprianou and Kolonaki Avenues as well as the secondary road network of the area. In Limassol, specifically in Germasogeia, at the junction of Christaki Kranou Street and Daidalidon Street, in the period 21/2/2022 – 13/8/2022, roundabout construction works will be carried out. Also in Germasogeia, construction works on the Germasogeia bypass road continue as normal. On Sunday, August 7, 2022, a section of the new bypass road of Germasogeia (Miki Theodoraki Avenue) from Mylou Street to Isabella Street, with a total length of 1.5 km, will be opened to traffic. On the same day, the construction work of the next phase of the Project will begin, which will last 6 months and includes, among other things, the reconstruction/upgrading of a 400m long section of Agia Paraskevi Street. up to the southern part of the Germasogeia roundabout, the reconstruction of Mylou Street and the construction of a roundabout at the junction of the new Mikis Theodorakis Avenue with Agia Paraskevi and Milos Streets. During the construction work of this phase the following traffic arrangements will apply: (a) The junction of Agia Paraskevi and Mylos Streets will be closed and the section of Agia Paraskevi Street south of Tellyrias Street will temporarily operate as a dead end street. Traffic from/to Germasogeia and from/to Limassol will be done via the new bypass road and its connections with Agia Paraskevi street from Isabella, Patron and Tellyria streets. The access of Agia Paraskevi street towards Limassol is expected to be handed over to traffic around the end of October 2022. (b) Mylou Street will be closed and its eastern section, from its junction with Potamias Street, will temporarily function as a dead-end street to serve merchants and residents. (c) Traffic from/to Muttayaka will be able to be done via Potamias Street (east) or via the new bypass road and Agios Georgios Street. On Navarinou Street, in Limassol, from its junction from the roundabout of Eleftherias Street to the traffic lights of Irini Street, also within the framework of the Great Flood Protection Project of the Center of Limassol, from Thursday June 30, rainwater drainage works will be carried out . The work is expected to be completed by Monday, September 5. Also in Limassol and Amathus, from Tuesday, July 26, works will be carried out to install storm drains, on Dode Street Kaniso from its junction with Grigori Auxentiou Street to its junction with Idaliou Street. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, August 12. During the works, the road will be closed and the public is asked to comply with the temporary road markings to divert traffic. In Paphos, in the Geroskipou area, from Tuesday, April 5, 2022, until Monday, March 6, 2023, the connecting road B6 - A6 (Limessos - Paphos), will be closed to traffic, due to roundabout construction works on Kinyra Street in Geroskipou. During the works drivers and pedestrians will be able to use a temporary detour that has been constructed for this purpose. On the old Paphos-Limassol road, from the period 7/2/2022 – 7/9/2022 (for 7 months), at the junction of Ippokratous Street with the old Paphos-Limassol road (Makariou Avenue 3), in the Municipality of Geroskipou , road improvement works will be carried out by the Paphos Public Works Department. During the works, the roads will remain open and traffic to/from Geroskipou will operate according to the temporary road markings. On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, the eastern road that connects the road to the port of Vassilikos will be closed to traffic in the period 23/4/2022 – 23/10/2022, as part of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vassilikos Energy Center. During the works, all traffic to and from Vassiliko will be diverted to the corresponding westbound road, through the Community of Mari. The traffic of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent streets and residences will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements. Also on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the period 18/7/2022 – 12/8/2022, every day except Sunday, between the hours of 07:30 – 18:00, construction works of water pipes will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the works, part of the old Nicosia - Limassol road, from the Offices of the Water Development Department in Choirokoitia and for a length of 200m. approximately in the direction of Skarinos, will be closed, and traffic will be handled using traffic light markings.
