GENERAL INFORMATION

 


It appears that finally Microsoft have ceased to pick up the Tala News from the server and Tala News will now have to move to a weekly update by means of Mail Chimp.   The number of items will therefore have to be restricted but you will be able to see more items on www.talanews.blogspot.com, and/or view items on Facebook - Tala Community Newsletter https://www.facebook.com/Tala-Community-Newsletter-120943844594713.    You will notice duplication of some items unfortunately as important items will be copied so that they appear in the Saturday Mail Chimp issue.

1  Tala Water bills - these have been issued for quarter to 30 June.   Payment please by 28 September


2  Kamares Library - this will re-open on 10 August [and run weekly on a Wednesday] from 1pm to 4pm.  This is now in the room underneath the pool, opposite the Medical Centre.


3  Bank Holiday 15 AugustThe Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance informs that, according to the provisions of the Regulation of the Operation of Stores and the Terms of Employment of their Employees legislation, all General Stores (eg stores within shopping centres, supermarkets, clothing / footwear stores, etc.), on Monday, August 15, 2022, should remain closed.

In addition, it is noted that those Special Stores that operate on this day, should compensate the employees who will work, with a ratio of 1:2 for each hour of work.


4  Paphos Road WorksTwo important sections of Ellados Avenue and Griva Digeni are being completed this week, and are being given to traffic, according to Paphos Mayor Phaedon Phaedonos.


5  Large Plastic water bottles - Reports that the refuse men may not be collecting these.  

If they are recyclable [single use PP: Polypropylene] , then Green Dot should pick them up on a Monday morning along with your other recycling.

If they are not recyclable [ie refillable PVC:  Polyvinyl Chloride] then neither the refuse collectors nor Green Dot will pick them up.   Please take them down to the Green Centre at Chlorakas where they are able to dispose of them responsibly.
