A breath away from the high temperatures and the 40s of the past days, it will provide seasonal low pressure that affects the area. This volatility is expected to drop the mercury by up to three degrees, bringing it down even below the average values for the season. As the officer of the Department of Meteorology, Andreas Chrysanthou, explained to "F", strong winds, cloudy, rain and possibly thunderstorm are also expected in the coming days.
"This is a seasonal low pressure, which traditionally in the summer affects more widely the region of the eastern Mediterranean, as well as Cyprus", underlined Mr. Chrysanthou and clarified that any phenomena are not related to the system recorded in Greece and the Balkans. After all, he said, it is the pressure incidents that are also responsible for yesterday's rainfall in the mountains and elsewhere.
Today, the weather will be mostly clear. However, from noon onwards there will be temporarily increased clouds that may give isolated rain (without excluding the occurrence of an isolated thunderstorm) mainly in the mountains and interior. At the same time, the strength of the winds will increase and progressively by the afternoon they will become moderate and locally strong.
At the same time, a drop of two to three degrees in temperature is expected, which will limit the feeling of discomfort of the previous days. The mercury will rise to around 37 degrees inland, 32 degrees on the coast and 29 in the mountains.
Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear. However, locally elevated clouds will be observed temporarily, which on Thursday are likely to give isolated rain, mainly in the mountains.
Tomorrow the temperature is expected to fall further slightly, while until Thursday no significant change is predicted to remain a little below the average climatic values.
