The two members of the YKAN, who accompanied the detainee Muhammad Atif, who escaped last night from a police vehicle while being transferred to a detention centre in the area of Agios Dometios in Nicosia, were suspended.
According to information from philenews, the deputy commander of the YKAN made a recommendation for the suspension of the two police officers. Following a decision by the Chief of Police, the two officers, a man and a woman, were suspended for 15 days until the investigation was completed, in order to establish the circumstances under which the 32-year-old managed to escape.
The runaway is missing
The photo and details of a 32-year-old man, who is wanted in connection with an ongoing case of escape from legal detention, assault on a police officer, and assault with actual bodily harm, is released by the Police, in order to collect information that may lead to his detection.
This is Muhammad Atif, born on 01/09/1989, from Pakistan, against whom a judicial arrest warrant has been issued and is wanted.
