The Municipality of Paphos announced that from Friday, the construction works will begin on the Project "Regeneration of the traditional core of the Anavargos district and the southern area of the traditional shopping centre of Paphos".
The roads that are affected by the execution of the project works are the following:
Gladstonos Street
Apostolou Pavlou Street (section)
Nikodimou Mylona Street (section)
Ermou Street
Nikos Antoniadi Street
Pallados Street
Pygmalionos Street
Rennou Street
Galatea Street
In relation to the Southern area of the Traditional Commercial Centre of Paphos for the period from the start of works until mid-December 2022 (1st Phase of works) works will be carried out on Gladstonos Street and Ermou Street which will remain closed to traffic. Safe access for pedestrians of affected residents and visitors to homes and other businesses will be ensured throughout the execution of the works.
Bypass roads for the traffic flow to Kato Paphos will be secured in four directions which will be properly marked. Below are recorded in detail the specific routes.
From Mesogi Avenue through Alexandrou Ypsilanti, Neapolis, Thermopylae and Nikodimou Mylona streets.
From Ellados Avenue via Athinas, Thermopylae and Nikodimou Mylona streets.
From Charalambou Mouskou Street through Neophytou Nikolaidi and Sotiraki Markidi streets.
From Athinon Avenue via Sotiraki Markidi Street.
Nikodimou Mylona Street will remain open for traffic in both traffic streams.
With the progress of the works and always on time there will be a new detailed update with all the necessary information for the remaining phases of the project.
