The Municipality of Paphos continues and intensifies its effort for a clean and decent city. In this context, more than 3,000 trucks have so far removed tons of soil, debris and other trivial objects from open spaces in all districts of Paphos.
As officials of the Municipality point out, in recent years more than 3,000 truckloads of aggregates have already been removed from the municipal area, as part of the effort to combat illegalities, by demolishing illegal premises and restoring the beautification of the city.
In the light of this new effort, the largest and most extensive one that takes place within the mayoral area, the Municipality of Paphos expresses once again its determination to maintain the cleanliness of the city, by imposing strict extrajudicial fines on those who break the law. It is noted that in addition to the extrajudicial documents amounting to €85, the Municipality of Paphos, under the authorization of the Minister of Agriculture, may also issue fines ranging from €200 to €2,000 per case.
At the same time, the Municipality of Paphos invites, for the umpteenth time, the public to use the Green Point, located in the district of Mouttalos [boundary with Chlorakas], in order to deposit there useless objects and materials such as aluminium, glass, furniture, thermometers, lamps, metal objects, batteries, wood, toys, bulky plastics, green-pruning, mattresses, cleaning materials, fabrics, medicines, carpets, paper, cardboard, paints and D.I.Y.
"The Municipality of Paphos is doing its duty," the statement reads. "But it is also up to the citizen to take his own share of responsibility to keep the city clean, functional and decent."
