PAPHOS - BOTH MAJOR PROJECTS AND SMALLER-SCALE PROJECTS UNDERWAY

Filenew 19 July 2022 -by Dora Christodoulou

It is not only the major construction sites and infrastructure projects that are currently being carried out in Paphos. Due to their size, they may constantly appear in the daily lives of citizens, but a huge amount, for the data of this difficult period, is also spent by the Municipality of Paphos on "low policy" projects.

In addition to the large-scale projects already underway in its central fabric, at a cost of more than €9 million, the municipal authority will disburse another significant amount for smaller-scale projects in various districts of the municipal area with the aim of improving the image and quality of life in the city. In particular, the Municipality of Paphos is proceeding with the further upgrading of everyday life in the city with the construction and repair of an extensive network of sidewalks, as well as the simultaneous creation of points for the safe and decent placement of waste bins. Already the contract for the implementation of the project, with a total cost of €690,000, has been signed and it is estimated that from 2022 and until the end of 2023, the image of the city in this field will be visibly upgraded functionally and aesthetically throughout its area.

The project will contribute substantially to the safer and more comfortable movement of pedestrians and vehicles within the municipal area, but also to the environmental and aesthetic upgrade of the city, with the creation of elegant and safe recesses (nests) for the installation of garbage collection bins.

The work will be completed within 24 months.
