For nine days and nights, from the 23rd to the 31st of July, dancers and choreographers active in Cyprus present their works in public places in the centre of Limassol, as part of the 19th New Movement Summer Dance Festival.
In pedestrian streets and squares, in seaside and urban parts of Limassol, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy performances.
The creators propose every year new experiences of viewing, expression and interactivity with the art of dance. An opportunity to highlight culture and contemporary art that the dance community has to offer, both for the residents and for the visitors of the city.
The opening will take place on Saturday, July 23rd with an evening of dance film screenings, performances, video art in the parking lot of EKA on Eleftherias Street. The festival takes place with free entrance to predetermined and unexpected public spaces in the centre of Limassol.
The Summer Dance Festival is organized by the New Movement of Dance Groups, Dancers and Choreographers of Cyprus, with the support of the Limassol Municipality and is an institution funded by the Cultural Services of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
An important institution for both the dance community and the city of Limassol. For nine days people have the opportunity to walk in Limassol, to get in touch with the artists and their work, in ways that are both special and unique.
During the preparation of the groups, he can also attend rehearsals and get in touch with the process of artistic creation. In addition, the way and structure of the event enhance the sense of community among the public, but also contribute to the fact that we all see and get to know the city through a different prism.
