The environmental authority has given the green light for the construction and operation of a 5-star hotel by the Archdiocese with a total cost of €100 million. Based on the preliminary environmental impact assessment report in the initial design of the hotel unit, the construction of 14 levels was foreseen, including ground floor and basement area with the maximum height of the building amounting to 53.31 meters.
The project had a capacity of 220 rooms / suites (including condos), and will occupy a total built-up area of 27,583.40 sq.m. In detail with the new design, the proposed project includes:
-Wellness centre (gym, swimming pool, sauna massage, etc.)
-Supporting areas (e.g. clean and dirty air conditioning, food warehouses, wine cellar, other storage areas, rooms of electromechanical installations, offices, training areas, waste areas, EAC room, etc.)
-44 parking spaces
On the ground floor there will be:
-Reception area, bar, living room
-Restaurant, kitchen, breakfast dining room
-Newspaper shop, souvenir shop, bank branch, other store, travel agency, hairdresser
-Banquet hall
-130 outdoor parking spaces
On the first floor there will be:
-16 double rooms, 3 one-bedroom suites, 3 two-bedroom suites.
On the second floor 31 double rooms and on the third to eighth floor 186 double rooms. Access to the area of the hotel unit will take place from Poseidonos Avenue on the north side of the plot. It is noted that with the construction of the proposed hotel unit, the construction of the two residential towers (Amethyst & Aquamarine Residential Towers) will take place. The two towers concern the residential development of a capacity of 122 apartments. A planning permit has been issued for the towers.
