He finally lost the battle for life on Tuesday night, the 20-year-old tourist who lost consciousness earlier that day, while he was in a hotel pool where he was staying in Kato Paphos.
Under circumstances that are being investigated, the young man was found unconscious in the water and the lifeguard of the unit along with members of the staff who became aware of the incident, immediately ran to his aid, taking him out of the water and giving him first aid until the arrival of the ambulance that had in the meantime been called to the scene.
Despite all efforts, the 20-year-old did not resume consciousness. He was transferred to Hospital where he was intubated. Unfortunately, however, the young tourist lost the battle at night.
The causes of death will be formalized after the legalized autopsy has been carried out, while the Police have ruled out any criminal act.
The 20-year-old was in Paphos on holiday with his parents.
