Seven people have died in the last week in Cyprus due to the coronavirus, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health. At the same time, from July 8 - 14, 2022, 15,386 new cases of coronavirus were detected with the positivity rate amounting to 12.58%.
Specifically:
7 deaths reported
They concern:
- Man, aged 87, who passed away on July 9
- Man, aged 76, who passed away on July 10
- Woman, aged 87, who passed away on July 10
- Man, aged 76, who passed away on July 11
- Man, aged 87, who passed away on July 12
- Woman, aged 76, who passed away on July 12
- Woman, aged 87, who passed away on July 12
- Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,086.
- 117 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals
- 9 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/4 intubated, MAF: 5)
- 2 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 122,335 diagnostic tests were performed
- 15,386 new cases were detected (total cases 545,896).
- Positivity rate in total tests 12.58%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 5,265 molecular tests performed
- 1,097 positive cases were reported
- Positivity rate 20.84%
Total number of Rapid Antigen Tests:
- 117,070 rapid antigen tests were performed
- 14,289 positive cases were reported
- Positivity rate 12.21%
Tracking:
- 24 molecular tests were performed and 11 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 45.83%)
Private initiative:
- 3,844 molecular tests were performed, 727 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 18.91%)
- 98,599 rapid antigen tests were performed, 13,424 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13,61%)
Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 18,471 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 865 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 9,013 rapid detection tests identified 681 positive cases (positivity rate 7.56%)
Other
- National Guard: 550 rapid antigen tests were performed and 18 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.27%)
- Nursing homes: 5,702 rapid antigen tests were performed, 85 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.49%)
- Closed facilities: 3,206 rapid antigen tests were performed, 81 new cases were identified (positivity rate 2.53%).
