VAXX - 4th DOSE

The population groups to which the booster / 4the dose of vaccine is administered, recalls the Ministry of Health.

In particular, it is granted:

  • to persons over 60 years of age (by presenting an ID or passport and the vaccination card),
  • people of all ages who live or work in nursing homes and closed facilities (by presenting an IDENTITY CARD or passport and the vaccination card),
  • to health professionals regardless of age (by presenting an identity card or passport, a vaccination card and a license to practice),
  • in *immunodeficiencies and *immunocompromised patients regardless of age,
  • in people with Diabetes Mellitus,
  • in people with severe Obesity: BMI ≥40 or ≥35 with metabolic syndrome,

provided that the period of five (5) months has elapsed since the receipt of the booster/3rd dose. Taking the booster/4th dose is optional.

*Immunocompromised patients:

  • In active treatment for solid tumours and haematological malignancies
  • With a history of transplantation of solid organs receiving immunosuppressive therapy
  • With a history of transplantation of primordial hematopoietic organs receiving immunosuppressive therapy
  • People with hereditary immunodeficiency
  • People with HIV Infection/AIDS
  • Subjects on immunosuppressive therapy including biological agents
  • As far as cortisone is concerned, it concerns people who have received or are taking a total dose of ›10 mg of prednisone/day (=8 mg of methylprignizolone) for one (1) month in the last six months.
  • With renal failure undergoing haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.

Immunodeficiencies and immunocompromised patients may come to the free access vaccination centres (walk in) by presenting a medical certificate from a Specialist Doctor (ID or passport, vaccination card) or they can express interest in arranging an appointment for vaccination through the attending physician, by sending a request to the e-mail address: 4dose@moh. gov. cy

Polis Chrysochous: Polis Chrysochous Hospital (every Tuesday 09:30a.m to 02:00p.m).
