As of today, the two metal detection arches and the radiodiagnostic machines, which have been installed for about three years at the entrances of the Limassol District Court, have been in operation.
On Friday, competent operators operating the arches went to the Court where they proceeded to various internal procedures so that the machines would be ready for operation from today.
The public, lawyers and employees will enter the buildings of the Court (old – new), after having passed the necessary control by the operators of the equipment. In the District Court of Limassol, the two metal detection arches and the radiodiagnostic machines have been installed for three years. One has been installed at the entrance of the old building which houses the Criminal – Family and the two Assize Courts while the second is placed at the entrance of the new building, the civil cases.
The information of "F" indicates that within the next few days various other works will be done in order to exclude areas that until now had access without control, within both buildings. It is also expected that works will be carried out concerning the physical safety of the area, such as the extension of the fences, etc.
We would like to remind you that the arches were purchased in 2019 after a tender in order to strengthen the security conditions of the Cypriot courts and their cost amounts to €2,870,530 for all courts in Cyprus. In a statement on Thursday, June 2, the Supreme Court said that in the coming days all metal detection arches, radiodiagnostic machines and hand metal detectors will be operational in all courts nationwide.
