LIMASSOL - 132 TRAFFIC COMPLAINTS IN 5 HOURS

A large-scale traffic control operation was carried out this morning in Limassol. In just five hours, 132 complaints were made for various traffic offences, while more than 20 vehicles were detained by the Police.

The operation was carried out by the members of the Limassol Traffic Department, on the main roads of Limassol and lasted from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. today.

During the five-hour inspection operation, the members of the Limassol Traffic Police, proceeded to a total of 132 complaints for various traffic offences, some of which are the main causes of fatal road collisions.

More specifically, the following were made:

• 27 complaints about driving a motor vehicle without a driver's license

• two complaints about driving under the influence of alcohol

• nine complaints for violation of traffic lights and traffic signals

• eight complaints about non-use of a seat belt or protective helmet

• 13 complaints about driving a vehicle that was declared as immobilized

• seven complaints about driving a vehicle without a certificate of suitability

• a further 69 complaints about various offences.

At the same time, during the inspections, 17 cars and six motorcycles were detained, since various modifications were detected in them.
