A few words about the musicians
Christos Yerolatsitis is a Cypriot pianist, keyboardist and composer. With an interest in various music genres, Christos’ s music can be characterized as colourful, intuitive and diverse. Christos moved to The Netherlands in 2009 where he studied jazz piano performance at the Royal Concervatory of the Hague (BA 2009-2013) and Conservatorium van Amsterdam (MA 2013-2015). Soon after his arrival he got into the Dutch jazz scene and performed all around the country with well-known artists, such as Benjamin Herman, John Ruocco, Simon Rigter, Ben van den Dungen, Ben van Gelder and others. In 2016 he moved to Mumbai where he got employed as the head of the Piano departments of the True School of Music, one of India’s biggest music schools. During his stay in India, Christos has performed with many bands in music festivals and jazz clubs and shared the stage with names such as Ranijit Barot (John Maclaughin’s drummer) and Erik Truffaz (trumpet) as well as Indian Carnatic musicians like Sabir Khan (Indian Sarangi player) and Bangalore Amrit (Indian Khanjjira). In 2018 Christos participated in the recording of the Eef van Breen Group’s new album “Walk of the Douts”. The record got released in 2019. The project has toured in major festivals and venues in The Netherlands such as Tivoli Vredenburg (Utrecht), Tolhuistuin (Amsterdam), Musis (Arnhem), Paradox (Tilburg), Regentankamer (Hague), Ooserpoort (Groningen), Odeon (Zwole) and De Lieve Vrouw (Amersfoort). In 2019 appeared in various Jazz festivals internationally with Ioannis Vafeas Trio, such as the Gouvy Jazz & Blues Festival in Belgium, 14th Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival and Rhodes Jazz Festival and Vamos Jazz Festival. As a new member of the Michael Messios Symmetry Band he appeared at the 19th Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival in Greece and the 20th Paradise Jazz Festival in Cyprus. In October 2019 he performed at the Jazzclun Schlot in Berlin with the a.R.project as part of the 6th EUNIC Jazz festival. Christos is currently based in Cyprus working with various international bands as a leader and a sideman.

The jazz bassist Xavi Castillo was born in Terrassa (Barcelona, Spain), a city known for its long jazz tradition. He got his bachelor’s degree at ESMUC (Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya) specialized in jazz interpretation. During his degree, he had the chance to spend a semester at the Koninklijk Concervatorium (The Hague, Netherlands). Xavi always combined his passion as a bass player with his commitment to music education. He has given countless private lessons to students of any age and has taught at municipal schools. Currently, he is a teacher at the public music school of Terrassa (Concervatory de Terrassa). He finished the ESMUC’s Master in Pedagogy for Musicians in 2020. He is based in Barcelona, working with various local and international artists. His current projects include two jazz trios, TRO and Xavi Castillo Trio that he co-leads and leads, respectively, and the Jazz set Gran Reserva that he co-leads. He is also involved in numerous collaborations as a sideman that are mainly focused, but not limited, to jazz.
Marcello Spagnolo born in Rome in 1986 and he had his first approach to the drums at the age of 11. He studied in Rome as a teenager, privately and in the Saint Louis College of Music under the guidance of Mr Gianni Di Renzo. He came closer to the jazz vocabulary, listening and playing along his favourite jazz drummers. The first notes were rock and funk-influenced playing in Italian band such as Indie-Rock band Vondelpark and more bluesy sounds with One Man 100% Bluez. In 2010 he moved to The Hague, Th Netherlands, to attend a bachelor’s in jazz Drums at The Royal Conservatoire studying jazz and other related topics with Mr Rric Ineke, Mr Joost Patocka and Mr Stefan Kruger as well as a minor education in Classical snare with Mr Hands Zonderop. While studying at the Royal Conservatoire he had the opportunity to follow masterclasses with some of the best drummers around including Gregory Hutchinson, Dave Liebman, Jeff Ballard, Mark Guilliana, John Riley, Avishai Cohen, Adam Nussbaum among others. During those years he appeared playing in Festivals around Europe like: Warsaw Jazz Days 2012, North Sea Jazz Festival 2013 with special guest Anat Cohen, Tuscia in Jazz 2013, Urbino Jazz Festival 2014, Vasto Siren Festival 2015 and more. In 2012 he started his collaboration with The British School in the Netherlands of the Hague, teaching drums to students
