COVID - TWO DEATHS AND 7,263 NEW CASES - 17-23 June

The Ministry of Health announces that for the week of June 17 - 23, 2022, one person has died due to coronavirus, while 7,263 new cases have been identified. Moreover, the death of a 37-year-old man that occurred on 03/08/2021 was announced.

Specifically:

  • 2 deaths reported
They concern:
  • Woman, aged 89, who died on 19 June
  • Man, aged 37, who died on 03/08/2021
  • Total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19: 1,072.
  • 47 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of snorkel/1 intubated, PPE: 3)
  • patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 74,362 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 7,263 new cases were identified (total cases 504,717).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 9.77%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 4,111 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 572 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 13.91%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 70,251 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 6,691 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 9.52%

 Tracking:

  • 13 molecular tests were performed and 7 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 53.85%)

Private initiative:

  • 3,368 molecular tests were performed, 443 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 13.15%)
  • 59,674 rapid antigen tests were performed, 6,432 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 10.78%)

Through the health ministry's programs, 10,577 rapid antigen tests were performed. 259 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 3,850 rapid detection tests identified 217 positive cases (positivity rate 5.64%)

Other

  • National Guard: 217 rapid antigen tests were performed and 22 positive cases identified (positivity rate 10.14%)
  • Nursing homes: 3,901 rapid antigen tests were performed, 15 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.38%)
  • Closed structures: 2,609 rapid antigen tests were performed, 5 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.19%).
