Special attention is advised to the public by the Police, for protection from sms messages that represent transport, shipping and receiving companies (courier).
The sms messages include a link that refers to a fake website of the courier company and inform the recipient that in order to receive his package, he must enter his personal details and the details of his bank card, for payment of a small amount of money as a debt.
By placing the details of the bank cards, the perpetrators are able to use them to extract any available funds.
The public is urged to be particularly careful in these malicious updates and always to confirm the authenticity of the sender and the website
In case citizens have already placed the details of their bank cards, they are encouraged to contact their Bank immediately and make a complaint to the Police Station of the area where they reside.
