2,207 NEW CASES, AND ONE DEATH FROM 2021 - WEEK 3-9 JUNE

One death and 2,207 coronavirus cases were announced by the Ministry of Health. The cases relate to the week of June 3 - 9.

Specifically:

  • 1 death was announced
It concerns  a man, aged 52, who died on March 23, 2021
  • Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 1068.
  • 31 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySO
  • in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of snorkel/2 intubated, PPE: 2)
  • patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 58,585 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,207 new cases were identified (total cases 493,984).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 3.77%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 3,590 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 214 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 5.96%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 54,995 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 1,993 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 3.62%

Tracking:

  • molecular tests were performed and 2 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 66.67%)

Private initiative:

  • 2,707 molecular tests were performed, 161 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.95%)
  • 45,177 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,907 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 4.22%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 9,818 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 86 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 2,443 rapid detection tests identified 75 positive cases (positivity rate 3.07%)

Other

  • National Guard: 235 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases identified (positivity rate 2.55%)
  • Nursing homes: 3,620 rapid antigen tests were performed, no positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0%)
  • Closed structures: 3,520 rapid antigen tests were performed, 5 new cases were identified (positivity rate of 0.14%).
