Threats of war in Poland were made by Vladimir Putin's close ally and Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov.
"Take back your weapons," he threatened in a message on Telegram.
According to the BBC, Kadyrov said that "the Ukraine issue has been closed" and that he is "interested in Poland". "After Ukraine, if we are given the order, in six seconds we will show you what we are capable of," said Chechenos, as he is known in Ukraine.
Poland is one of the European countries that has supplied Ukraine with weapons to help it defend itself against the Russian invasion.
Kadyrov's statement underscores concerns expressed by some Polish officials that Russia could potentially launch an attack on the country in the future.
Although the Russian president has not given any indication of his plans, the Polish deputy foreign minister said during an interview with Al Jazeera published in late March that he is confident that Putin would like to attack Poland, "but not soon because he is busy with Ukraine."
Ramzan Kadyrov, who rules Chechnya with an iron fist, is considered to be completely loyal to the Kremlin and has under his command a paramilitary force known as the "kantirovci".
