A helicopter from the British Bases also assists in extinguishing the large fire in the area of Panagron – Kormakitis that is raging uncontrollably, while several houses have been evacuated either because they were damaged by the fire, or for safety reasons.
According to Turkish media, Ersin Tatar took steps to assist the Base helicopter.
The "leader" of the "civil defence", Atila Karatzia, told the Turkish Cypriot "news agency" that the fire is directed to the east, has spread to a large area, as they found in a reconnaissance flight they made by helicopter in the presence of the Turkish Cypriot leader. Some houses, he said, have been evacuated.
The "mayor" of Lapithos, Mustafa Aktoug, said that 20 to 25 houses were evacuated near Kormakitis and added that some houses were damaged due to the fire.
The area was overseen from the air by Mr. Tatar with the "leader" of the "civil defence", the "leader" of the "peacekeeping forces" and the "leader" of the "security forces", as the occupying army is divided in the occupied territories.
On the spot, in addition to Ersin Tatar, are the "prime minister" Unal Ustel and the "minister of agriculture", Dursun Oguz.
