Whenever you leave your car, even for a short period of time, even if it is just outside a house, please ensure that the keys are removed from the ignition and the vehicle is locked.
There was an incident today in the Larnaca area, where the keys were left in the ignition, when the owner popped in to see a friend. The car was stolen. There was also €4,500 cash in the glovebox.
Thankfully the car was stopped by Dhekelia base Police, the thief was arrested and the cash was found in the glovebox, untouched.
