BENEFICIARIES OF THE ONE-OFF GRANT - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Answers for the one-off sponsorship for the support of vulnerable groups of the population is given, with today's announcement, by the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.

1. Who are the beneficiaries of the one-off grant?

There are six categories of beneficiaries for the one-off grant, targeting vulnerable households.

The six Categories of beneficiaries are the following:

  • Category 1: All family units, which have dependent children under the age of 18 and have annual gross income of the previous year (2021) up to €10,000. The lump sum is €150 for each child up to the age of 18.
  • Category 2: All family units, which have dependent children under 18 years of age and have annual gross income of the previous year (2021) from €10,001 to €19,500. The lump sum is €120 for each child up to the age of 18.
  • Category 3: All family units, which have dependent children under the age of 18 and have annual gross income of the previous year (2021) from €19,501 to €29,000with 3 or more children. The lump sum is €100 for the3rd or additional children up to the age of 18.
  • Category 4: All family units, which have dependent children under the age of 18 and have annual gross income of the previous year (2021) from €29,001 to €39,000with 3 or more children. The lump sum is €80 for the3rd or the additional children up to the age of 18.
  • Category 5: All family units, which have dependent children under the age of 18 and have annual gross income of the previous year (2021) from €39,001 to €49,000with 3 or more children. The lump sum is €60 for the3rd or additional children up to the age of 18.
  • Category 6: All family units, which are beneficiaries of the Guaranteed Minimum Income or recipients of the Public Benefit and do not have dependent children under the age of 18. The lump sum amounts to €100 for the beneficiary€50 for the beneficiary's spouse and €25 for each child of the beneficiary aged from 18 to 28 years old who belongs to the family unit.

2. How is the lump sum calculated?

The lump sum is calculated on the basis of income criteria and the composition of each household. Beneficiaries must necessarily be registered in the Child Benefit Register and/or the Guaranteed Minimum Income Register and/or the Register of Recipients of Public Assistance.

3. By what procedure will the one-off grant be paid?

The one-off grant will be paid automatically to the beneficiaries, without the need to submit an application, by bank transfer to the accounts of the beneficiaries, to whom the corresponding benefit (Child Benefit, GMI, Public Benefit) is paid.

4. When will the lump sum be given?

The one-off grant will only be paid once, no later than the end of June 2022. The exact date will be announced in the coming days.

5. Will the lump sum be taken into account in the calculation of the total income for the determination of his entitlement to the corresponding benefit?

The lump sum will not be taken into account in the calculation of total income for the purpose of determining the right or income category that each beneficiary falls under the project already participating in.
